A Message from IFE-USA |
The world around us continues
to change at an ever-increasing rate. As
the world evolves, it places more and more pressure on every organization in our
society to also change to meet new challenges and opportunities.
This also, in turn, places increased demands on both organizational
leadership, and front line employees, to look at new and better methods to
deliver goods and services to an increasingly more sophisticated customer.
Again in 2000, the USA Branch of the Institution of Fire Engineers was pleased to bring together speakers from across the world to focus on issues and topics related to fire service management that have resulted in significant or measurable changes in service delivery and capability.
Customers, Changes, and New Challenges: Reinventing the Fire Service, examined the variety of issues that have had positive, negative, and controversial effects that the “reinvention” phenomenon is having on the fire service today, and will have on the entire fire service community in the future.
Change in our society and all over the world will continue to accelerate. The world of the future will inevitably be more complex than it is today. We hope that this opportunity to examine, in-depth, the reinvention process and impact will provide fire service leaders with useful tools to meet the challenges of the future.
We have compiled this CD-ROM for your convenience in accessing the conference proceedings. We welcome your feedback related to the CD-ROM, the papers or any other items related to the conference.
